Shoreham Airport (Brighton City Airport) is located in Shoreham-By-Sea, along the south coast of West Sussex, between Brighton & Hove city and the coastal town of Worthing.
Shoreham Airport offers business travel, flight instruction and pleasure flights.
Shoreham is the oldest licensed airfield in the United Kingdom and has a beautiful Grade II* listed art deco style Terminal Building. In 1910, London based artist Harold Piffard set himself up on a piece of grazing land across the river from Shoreham, and so started the story of Shoreham Airport.
On the 13th June 1936 the exquisite Art-Deco terminal building was officially opened by the Mayors of Brighton, Hove and Worthing and The building remains today very much in its original shape and, as always, is still very much open to the public.
The opening day at Shoreham hosted an air-show and companies such as Channel Air Ferries, Railway Air Services and Jersey Airways soon started to use the airport.
Within the Terminal Building’s long history, it has seen international and domestic departures and arrivals including some of the world’s largest airlines. With the outbreak of war in 1939 international airline operators were removed from London (Croydon) Airport to Shoreham. These include names like Sabena, DDL, KLM and the predecessor of British Airways, Imperial Airways. Some of the destinations flown to by the above airlines included Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Malmo and Brussels.

Due to relocation, we have now switched off our Preston Park webcam.
We have moved our office to Storrington in West Sussex and our live cam now points towards Storrington Fire Station, a two bay station on School Hill, constructed in 1957.
Storrington fire station’s area is predominantly rural, and includes the villages of Storrington and Pulborough. The southern area of Storrington station ground is located in the South Downs, parts of which are Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which means a responsibility towards environmental protection.

Apologies for the lack of updates recently and general lack of progress in getting this webcam portal up and running.
We are currently relocating and I’ve not had much time to devote to the site.
There will be many more Sussex webcams listed soon, I promise!
Plus there will be a new navigation page with an A-Z of all the webcams featured on the site, making it much easier to find the camera you are looking for.
Any comments or questions? Please email admin@brightonwebcam.com

Okay, so this camera’s not in Sussex… But it’s an impressive webcam that’s well worth a look.
The camera, which features High Definition live streaming video, shows the zebra crossing outside the world famous Abbey Road Studios in London.
The now iconic crossing at Abbey Road was made famous by the front cover of the Beatles 1969 album, Abbey Road, which features a photo of all four band members walking across the crossing.
Nowadays the crossing is a popular tourist attraction with hundreds of people visiting every day, trying to imitate that famous Beatles pose themselves.

Visit the live webcam at Weir Wood Reservoir!
Located in Forest Row, East Sussex, England, Weir Wood Reservoir is a local nature reserve and also home to Weir Wood Sailing Club and many other water sport activities.
This live cam, courtesy of Streamdays, shows Weir Wood Reservoir and Ashdown Forest. At the western end of the reservoir is a Local Nature Reserve. The rest is used for fishing and water sport activities and the camera shows alternating views up and down the reservoir.
The reservoir has a breeding colony of great crested grebes and migrating ospreys in Spring and Autumn. The area used to be a river valley and was used as an ironworks in Roman times. There is a large slagheap marking the site. The reservoir was completed in 1953 and is owned by Southern Water.
The best views of the nature reserve can been seen from the main car park, though this live webcam comes a close second! There is a hide and a feeding station for wild birds, and many footpaths for exploring the surrounding area.
This is one of the best webcams in East Sussex we’ve seen so far.
