Brighton Pier

Brighton is the most popular beach destination for people in the UK. It’s about an hour south of London, has a huge boardwalk, a shingle beach, and during the month of October, not a lot of people.

mmm yes a roving eye – great birds……
Your Pride set is fab. Love the way you get in close to your subjects. Great birds eye view on this one and the subject matter is of, ahem, interest too…
LOVE IT ! what more can i say?
Very cool!!!
hahahah he tells thee truth abt the colours – i was with him on the beach that day
This is lovely! As an ex-Brightonite it brings back many warm feelings for this place. Thanks!
Very much getting pleasure from seeing this,
–
Seen in your Olympus OM10 set. (?)
not really the photo looked pretty much like this untill i scanned it in, then it lost some saturation so i had to liven it up a bit. honest gov
VERY nice photo Mr Vic
You must have tweaked the colours more than a touch though, come on!!
wow..have never seen it like this, but that does look early..very early
yep
The colours are fantastic mate , are the people not digging for worms to fish with??
wow, brilliant coloring! so serene…
all i did was increase the brightness and saturation (it was only a slight increase) the colours did look somthing like this to the eye becuase of the time of day.
weird. i have never seen the sea front look quite like this! (did you play with the colours?)
hmmm yes good thinking
Hhahahahah – SHU7PERRRR
I do like this one, well done mr lumpy bastard lumps….
You shud turn it upside down and pretend the sky is made of darker cluds and ripples
Fantastic Light.
thanks,
yeah its only certain times of the month and or year, it does this.
Fantastic colour. I can’t remember seeing the tide out that low.
youve made it look really majestic. wheres the tat? wheres the winkles? where’s the sunburnt poms?? (kidding)
dressed right for a beach fight
Awesome. Incredible detail and a beautiful sky.
Fantastic light and details!! Great large too !!!!
your post processing is stunning … well done
Lovely shot. It doesn’t make you want to go swimming though.
Oh yeah, Picasa is…. well, good for organizing, but that’s about it. I was so nieve. neive. uh… inexperienced.
I like the bright, featureless sky in the upper left. Sorta give the fealing of really looking down the pier when it’s really bright out.
See, I told you PS was so much better than Picasa….
Wow! Thank you all for your comments, etc. I really wish there was a way on here to show you the before and after. I’m becoming a big supporter of Photoshop, not to change my images, but just to give them a little extra sparkle, brighten, etc. It’s not like I’m putting a head on someone elses’s body, etc. But overall, I’m satisfied with this image and I guess with digital, quantity makes quality.
Beautiful!!! Love the composition and the mood!!!
I don’t know what you did during post processing on this one, John, but it is an absolute winner (and an instant fave, too). Is that a combination of sepia and color or just a trick my eyes are playing on me?
superb clarity…… very beautiful place!!
what a great work my friend!!
The light and colours are excellent; full of detail, too. Only thing I’m not so keen on is the fussy drop shadow border.

Great shot – I love the light
Those were the days!

I love that pier. I hope I get to see it one day for myself. Beautifully captured!
My cousin was there in the time of falling tide, and it was looking like sea of mud.
great shot
