Hove Lagoon was opened in 1930, and the layout is very much the same today as it was back then. There are two lagoons at the site, the smaller one is approximately 3000 square metres and the larger one is 19500 square metres. The large lagoon is used mostly by Hove Lagoon Watersports for wind surfing, dinghy sailing and kayaking. While the smaller lagoon is currently used by model boat enthusiasts. The popular vegan cafe ‘V-Bites’, which is owned by local celebrity Heather Mills, sits next to the smaller lagoon and to the south of that is a skate park, opened in 2007.
